Stroke Rehabilitation is an important part of recovery after stroke. The patient undergoes rehabilitation treatment during acute care or during hospitalization, as an out-patient, and home based care.
The duration of stroke rehabilitation depends on the severity of the stroke itself and the related complications. Some stroke survivors recover quickly, but most need some form of long-term rehabilitation, which may last for months or years after their stroke.
The sooner a stroke patient begins physical rehabilitation, the sooner the patient regains lost abilities, function and skills.
